Engage with a practical curriculum developed alongside our network of veterinary clinics and research institutions, where you'll gain skills to care for companion animals, livestock, horses, lab animals, and exotic wildlife species. Train in our state-of-the-art facilities, featuring the Veterinary Clinical Skills Centre and Veterinary Pathology Centre, where you'll master procedures like anesthesia administration, catheter placement, surgical dissection, and postmortem examinations. Your final year includes intensive clinical rotations (IMR) to experience veterinary practice firsthand while being guided by licensed professionals. Benefit from instruction by practicing veterinarians and researchers, plus expert guest lecturers from our partner organizations.
This program, designed with input from veterinary hospitals and research centers including Marwell Zoo, covers all major animal body systems across domestic, agricultural, and exotic species. Your first year establishes core veterinary knowledge through studies in anatomy, animal care, cellular biology, physiology, and professional ethics. Second year advances your understanding of disease patterns, pathogens, and pathology through real-world cases and One Health principles, while refining animal handling and examination techniques. Third year focuses on clinical diagnostics, surgical procedures, medication therapies, and evidence-based practice, culminating in a supervised research project where you'll analyze data and scientific literature.
