Food science is an interdisciplinary field combining biology and chemistry to examine food. Your first year will cover a wide array of subjects, including food science and nutrition, establishing a strong base for your degree. During your second year, you'll deepen your knowledge of how food components change during processing and storage. You'll learn about food microbiology and the production of safe, nutritious food. Explore ingredient functionality while studying nutrition's impact on preventing major health conditions like cancer.

In your final year, you can choose to specialize further by studying areas such as food chemistry to analyze natural and added food components. You'll also examine food production technologies that ensure safety and nutrition, along with the significance of food security.
