Our Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and Master of Engineering (MEng) programs are designed in collaboration with industry partners. These courses will provide you with essential technical abilities and analytical thinking to solve practical engineering challenges, setting you up for a rewarding career in chemical and process engineering fields. Throughout your studies, you'll engage with the entire chemical engineering workflow: our £1.7 million facility features a fully functional pilot plant that you'll utilize during your program and operate collaboratively in your third year. Additionally, you can participate in our acclaimed Professional Training scheme, which equips students for industrial careers. A standout feature of Surrey is our recognized Professional Training program that readies students for industry positions.
Our curriculum addresses contemporary industry challenges, blending core chemical engineering principles with interdisciplinary design, biochemical engineering, and sustainable practices. You'll learn from award-winning faculty members while building comprehensive expertise applicable throughout chemical and process sectors. This knowledge will be directly implemented during your third-year group process design project. You can enroll in either the BEng or MEng track, with the MEng program extending the BEng through a master's year - the fastest pathway to achieving chartered engineer status. MEng students may also collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects with peers from other engineering departments.
