Our BEng and MEng programs are designed in collaboration with industry partners. These courses will provide you with both technical expertise and critical thinking abilities to solve practical engineering challenges, setting you up for a rewarding career in chemical and process engineering fields. Throughout your studies, you'll engage with the entire chemical engineering workflow: our £1.7 million facility features a fully functional pilot plant that you'll utilize during your course and operate collaboratively in your third year. Additionally, you can participate in our acclaimed Professional Training scheme, designed to equip students for industrial careers. A standout feature of Surrey is our recognized Professional Training program that readies students for professional roles.
Our curriculum addresses contemporary industry challenges, blending core chemical engineering principles with multidisciplinary design, biochemical applications, and sustainable practices. You'll learn from award-winning faculty members while building comprehensive knowledge applicable throughout chemical and process industries. This foundation enables you to collaboratively design processes in your third year. You can choose between BEng or MEng pathways - the MEng extends the BEng with a master's year, offering the fastest route to chartered engineer status. MEng students may also participate in cross-disciplinary projects alongside peers from other engineering disciplines.
