As a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Master of Engineering (MEng) student, you'll gain access to cutting-edge wind-tunnel research facilities and receive instruction from globally renowned experts. Our strong industry connections enhance your employability skills, while our acclaimed Professional Training placements equip you for careers across diverse sectors. You can further develop hands-on, collaborative, and leadership abilities by participating in our thriving student design competition teams, such as the UAS Challenge squad. This program holds professional accreditation from both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Our aerospace engineering curriculum covers innovative materials, design principles, aerodynamics, space technology, propulsion systems, and modern computational/simulation techniques. Through hands-on experience in our comprehensive aerodynamics and materials testing facilities - featuring a demonstrator jet engine and flight simulator - you'll apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Our research-driven approach connects you with specialists in aircraft aerodynamics, environmental aerodynamics, propulsion systems, computational fluid dynamics, and gas-turbine engine flow modeling (through our Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre partnership).
Students may enroll in either the BEng or MEng program. The MEng expands upon the BEng with an additional master's year, providing a direct pathway to an advanced degree. For guidance on choosing between these options, we recommend viewing our engineering program comparison video that explains the distinctions between these qualifications.
