Our Strathclyde Centre for Doctoral Training (SCDT) in Communication Disorders is a thriving multidisciplinary program. This CDT comprehensively addresses various aspects of diagnosing and treating individuals with communication challenges. With supervisors spanning all four University faculties, you'll benefit from top-tier academic guidance and extensive technical resources - including specialized labs for speech analysis, movement studies, ultrasound tongue imaging, and signal processing, plus eye tracking and EEG systems. The PhD program offers flexible three-year full-time or part-time options. Additionally, we provide a one-year MRes in Speech and Language Sciences, enabling students to hone research skills through an in-depth independent dissertation project within this field.
You require to have a first-class or upper second-class UK Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in speech and language pathology or a related subject. For postgraduate studies, we require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent (no individual test score below 5.5, the test must be taken within two years of the programme start date).
