You can pursue an MPhil degree in one year or a PhD over three years, with part-time options available for both. These programs are offered across all our research groups, including Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Software Systems and Interaction, Digital Health & Wellness Group, Strathclyde iSchool Research Group, and Mathematically Structured Programming. Within the Cybersecurity Group, our mission is to enhance societal resilience in digital security environments. We adopt problem-focused methodologies, examining how individuals and organizations behave, experience, and confront challenges in digital spaces amid evolving threats to identity, privacy, and security. Our goal is to develop solutions that empower legitimate users and entities to operate securely online while safeguarding them from digital risks. We pay special attention to marginalized communities. Our overarching objective is to leverage mathematical principles to comprehend computational processes and translate this knowledge into innovative programming languages.
We look for a first-class or upper second-class UK Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in a computer sciences discipline from a recognised academic institution.
