Business Analysis & Consulting is designed to provide you with practical, evaluative, and analytical capabilities, preparing you as an aspiring manager or consultant to shape and enhance organizational strategy and performance. You'll master essential quantitative business analysis techniques to assess performance effectively. The program emphasizes real-world industry engagement, featuring multiple external client projects in your experiential learning course, plus the chance to complete your summer project with an external partner. Furthermore, you'll gain expertise in applying business models to aid strategic planning and performance tracking for organizations. Upon completion, you'll possess core business consulting skills applicable across all sectors.
Program Highlights
The foundational Becoming an Effective Business Analyst course spans both semesters, offering a hands-on setting to implement analysis and consulting tools from other classes to address complex challenges presented by industry partners. Semester 1 focuses on building essential technical and interpersonal competencies for business analysts and consultants, including problem structuring, data analysis, forecasting models, and operations management. Semester 2 expands these core skills while allowing specialization through electives in risk analysis, strategic modeling, big data analytics, and business simulation. You may also enroll in business courses from other Strathclyde Business School departments during the Spring School.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum of a Pass degree, or equivalent, in an appropriate subject. Subject to performance, students may transfer from the Diploma course to the MSc.

Although some quantitative analytical tools are taught and used during the course, only basic mathematical knowledge is necessary before starting the course.

English language requirements:
IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
TOEFL (IBT): 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20 Writing: 18.
