The MSc in Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship is housed within a department deeply committed to empowering students focused on driving social and environmental transformation. The Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship is home to the Socially Progressive Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SPIE) Research Cluster, which facilitates knowledge sharing and develops innovative approaches for socially conscious research and business creation, fostering cross-disciplinary studies in practical settings. Social innovation focuses on developing solutions for unaddressed societal challenges. Examples range from restorative justice systems and hospice care to early childhood education, remote learning programs, and urban traffic management strategies (Mulgan et al., 2007). These concepts typically materialize through entrepreneurial efforts that transform innovations into workable, enduring business frameworks. In today's world, social innovation and entrepreneurship play an unprecedented role: pressing global issues like climate crises, pandemic risks, population growth, and economic inequality demand fresh approaches and sustainable business models for effective implementation.
