Join our program to gain the expertise needed for a successful career in environmental engineering or science. You'll cultivate a multidisciplinary understanding of environmental challenges and learn to devise effective solutions while tackling pressing real-world problems. Complete an industry-based project as part of your studies. Our MSc in Environmental Engineering directly responds to industry requirements, addressing key areas such as urban renewal, contaminated land management, environmental conservation, and global infrastructure development. A unique aspect of this program is its contemporary relevance. Glasgow's ongoing urban transformation, including development on previously contaminated sites, provides immediate case studies near campus. These experiences will enable you to apply environmental engineering principles across both local and global contexts. Curriculum Overview The program includes five core courses plus electives, with each class typically meeting for two hours weekly over 8-11 weeks. After completing coursework, you'll work on a dissertation from June through August. While we offer dissertation topics through faculty and industry partners, you may also propose subjects aligned with your career goals or employer's needs. Part-time students can spread coursework across two years (typically attending one day weekly) and complete their dissertation in the second or third year. Career Prospects Our graduates hold positions worldwide across environmental consultancies, engineering firms, government agencies, and international regulatory bodies.
