Our one-year MPhil and three-year PhD programs accept applications year-round. You may submit your own research proposal or choose from our curated list of PGR projects available through our Institutes. All PhD candidates will automatically join the Postgraduate Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PgCert RPD). This program enhances your research journey by recognizing and rewarding your academic activities while developing crucial professional skills: developing subject expertise and research capabilities cultivating personal attributes for academic and career success understanding professional research standards in your field collaborating effectively and communicating research impact to diverse audiences Simply integrate these activities into your PhD work while maintaining reflective records of your progress. Career Support: Our University Careers Service offers comprehensive assistance, from CV writing to interview coaching.
You'll need a first-class or upper second-class UK Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in a relevant engineering, physical sciences or technology-based discipline from a recognised academic institution.
English language requirements:
For students whose first language is not English, you must have a minimum of 6.5 IELTS score with no individual score lower than 5.5. TOEFL (ibt): 80 overall, with the following minimum scores in each component: Listening: 17 Reading: 18 Speaking: 20 Writing: 18
