This program is tailored for Malaysian students, as it holds accreditation from LAM PAM Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia Board of Architects Malaysia. While offering RIBA Part 2 exemption, it does not cover ARB Part exam waivers. The curriculum aligns with the MArch Pg Diploma in Advanced Architectural Design, allowing you to collaborate with peers in a dynamic learning setting. You'll enhance your expertise in sophisticated design, analytical thinking, and architectural evaluation while tackling intricate projects across diverse contexts and addressing societal, cultural, and environmental challenges. The program requires strong design capabilities and self-discipline.
Program Highlights
Year 1
The initial year focuses on strengthening your architectural design competencies. You'll explore architecture as a responsive approach to core societal concerns. You'll select a specialized subject aligned with departmental research and complete a design-related dissertation on a topic of personal interest.
Year 2
You'll execute a major architectural project requiring a stance on current architectural debates. This develops through a personalized theme reflecting your creative vision, supported by specialized classes. The curriculum includes professional studies coursework and guest lectures. Diploma students advancing to Masters complete an additional semester for deeper thesis exploration. Field trips enable immersive study of urban and rural environments, with recent destinations including Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Venice, Gdansk, Toledo, and Monte Caruso.
