This program is tailored for law graduates who hold both a qualifying law degree and a Diploma in Legal Practice. It serves as a research-focused extension for Diploma holders, enabling them to expand upon their prior studies through an in-depth, 15,000-word dissertation on a specialized legal topic. The objective is to equip qualified graduates with advanced legal research capabilities while allowing concentrated exploration of their selected field. Whether you're an established legal professional seeking to investigate a practice-related subject or a newcomer aiming to deepen your expertise to boost career opportunities, this course delivers the necessary training and guidance to produce a Master's-level thesis. By completing this program, you'll distinguish yourself through refined skills and specialized knowledge in your chosen legal discipline.
First- or upper second-class LLB Honours degree and a qualifying Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice/Professional Legal Practice from a Scottish university. Your Diploma will normally have been obtained in the last five years. Older qualifications are not a bar to entry but will instead be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Where demand for places exceeds availability, performance of applicants during their studies (i.e. generally the relative performance of applicants in specified LLB classes and over the duration of their Diploma studies) will be taken into consideration.
