Strathclyde University offers multiple pathways to study law, including a BA degree that combines law with another discipline. The field of law explores the rights, responsibilities, and duties individuals have toward each other and the state.
Legal education is considered not just career-focused but as an integral component of comprehensive learning. Important note: the BA law track doesn't provide professional legal qualifications. Students seeking legal certification should pursue the LLB program. Social Policy analyzes how societies allocate resources and design services to address both individual and collective requirements. Core topics include poverty; inequalities based on economics, race, age, and gender; concepts of fairness; healthcare; education; justice systems; and housing. The subject employs diverse research methods to better understand resource distribution and societal progress measurement. This curriculum enables students to examine Scotland's socioeconomic challenges within a global context, incorporating insights from history, sociology, anthropology, economics, legal studies, psychology, social anthropology, and political science.
