This course centers on how increasing demands on natural resources have led to a reassessment of conventional methods for tackling challenges and identifying opportunities. These include combating climate change, preventing and reversing biodiversity decline, promoting sustainable development, transitioning from fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal), and exploring innovative renewable energy solutions.
Through a comprehensive environmental law framework, the program offers extensive analysis by incorporating sustainability principles, justice concepts, and human rights perspectives. Although specialized, the LLM in Environmental Law and Climate Justice welcomes students without prior expertise in energy, environmental policy, or legal studies. It caters to both law graduates and professionals from social sciences, environmental studies, and humanities backgrounds, further enriched by interdisciplinary module offerings.
