Our Sports Therapy program provides extensive hands-on training and the chance to work with actual clients at our university's Sports Therapy Clinic. Under professional supervision, you'll handle diverse cases ranging from common knee and back injuries to intricate musculoskeletal conditions. You'll treat elite athletes as well as specialized groups including seniors and individuals with comorbidities like cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases. Training occurs in our innovative Telehealth Hub - a cutting-edge facility where students master digital healthcare skills for sports and exercise. This hub allows students to virtually assess, educate, monitor, and deliver healthcare services. As digital healthcare becomes increasingly prevalent, these skills ensure our graduates remain competitive in the evolving job market.
Career Paths
Graduates enter diverse fulfilling careers as sports therapists, massage therapists, or clinic owners. Opportunities exist in injury rehabilitation centers working alongside various professionals or directly with athletes in sports like football, rugby, and martial arts. Healthcare pathways offer numerous positions working with specialized populations including seniors and patients managing obesity, diabetes, or cancer - where therapeutic exercise significantly enhances quality of life. The program also prepares students for advanced study, with various Master's degrees available in sports and exercise fields at our university.
