Our research at the School of Medicine focuses on revolutionizing healthcare approaches, from wellness initiatives and early diagnosis to disease treatment and health communication across local, national, and international levels. Our diverse research team brings together specialists in health data analytics, population health studies, clinical trials, and the development of evidence-based psychological therapies.

Our work spans primary healthcare and community wellbeing, with particular emphasis on substance use disorders, youth health, chronic diseases, and lifestyle factors. We prioritize community engagement in all research phases and collaborate with the Fife Community Advisory Council to shape our studies. Through participatory design methods, we enhance both research implementation and public comprehension. Our partnerships include close collaboration with the Sir James Mackenzie Institute for Early Diagnosis.
