The Work, Organisations and Society research team explores the complex connections between individuals, institutions, and social structures through diverse interdisciplinary lenses. Our scholars employ both conventional and critical theoretical frameworks, examining phenomena from individual interactions to large-scale societal systems. Methodologically, we combine qualitative techniques like ethnographic studies, video-reflexive analysis, and in-depth interviews with quantitative methods such as panel studies, experimental designs, and survey research. Our work is fundamentally anchored in three core principles: sustainability, equity/diversity/inclusion (EDI), and corporate responsibility - reflecting our School's commitment to ethical management practices. We critically examine conventional organizational wisdom and challenge established management paradigms. Central to our inquiry is understanding the socio-psychological dimensions of workplace behavior and the broader ethical/political implications of organizational actions.
