In today's interconnected world, proficiency in foreign languages and cultural understanding forms a crucial foundation. University-level language studies enable direct engagement with diverse peoples, cultures, and historical narratives through their native tongues. Such study also facilitates broader perspectives on one's own linguistic and cultural background. Within the School of Modern Languages, students learn from specialists across seven language disciplines and Comparative Literature, with faculty research spanning medieval to contemporary studies encompassing diverse thematic areas.
