The 1-year MSc (by research) program, available in Psychology or Neuroscience, focuses entirely on an independent research endeavor spanning 12 months (or equivalent part-time duration). Students work under the guidance of one or more faculty members from the School, culminating in a thesis not exceeding 30,000 words. Both the PhD and MSc (by research) programs aim to deliver personalized training. This education may include supervisory tutorials, specialized courses within the School of Psychology and Neuroscience or related departments, University resources like the Centre for Academic, Professional and Organisational Development, or external providers. Students are also motivated to attend conferences, seminars, and workshops, both on-campus and externally. This program offers comprehensive training in integrative neuroscience, equipping participants with essential skills for independent scientific research. Throughout the year, students undertake a focused laboratory research project while developing technical competencies through structured coursework, enabling deep exploration of their research interests.
