The Marine Biology Master of Science by Research is a one-year program focused solely on research. Students will conduct a supervised research project in Marine Biology within the University of St Andrews' School of Biology. Research takes place at the interdisciplinary Scottish Oceans Institute (SOI) located at East Sands, St Andrews. The SOI houses the renowned Sea Mammal Research Unit (SMRU) and brings together researchers studying diverse marine topics - from deep ocean ecosystems to coastal environments, and from human-sea interactions to the biological and physical mechanisms driving ocean systems.

Qualification Requirements
You should have an undergraduate Honours degree at 2.1 level or better in biological or environmental sciences. Students from backgrounds such as mathematics, physics or chemical sciences may be accepted under exceptional circumstances.
