The MLitt in Romantic and Victorian Studies deepens students' understanding of Romantic and Victorian literature by examining literary works from the 1790s through 1900. Through analyzing various literary forms, students will explore different periods of literary creation and interpretation, along with their cultural and historical backgrounds. This intensive one-year program, offered by the School of English, covers texts and themes spanning the 18th and 19th centuries. Enhance your research capabilities in specialized areas through focused topic modules. Investigate Romantic and Victorian writings in connection with diverse intellectual movements, including revolutionary ideals, gender discussions, and artistic philosophies. Build expertise in the historical, cultural, and analytical frameworks of 19th-century literature. Gain hands-on research experience by completing a postgraduate thesis.
