The MLitt in Middle Eastern History is a postgraduate degree program offered by the School of History. This intensive course allows students to examine diverse historical aspects of this globally significant region, covering social, political, cultural, and intellectual dimensions. Study options encompass: early Islamic civilizations (Umayyad and Abbasid eras), Seljuk history, medieval Islamic societies, Anatolian history, Ayyubid and Mamluk periods, Ottoman studies, ancient Armenian history, Islamic philosophical traditions, and additional specialized areas with faculty approval. The curriculum provides training in critical methodologies and theoretical frameworks, including Orientalism studies.
