The MBiochem (Hons) Biochemistry program explores the biochemical processes fundamental to all living organisms, spanning diverse areas from viral reproduction to brain function. Students will examine cellular and organismal biochemistry, focusing on protein structure and activity, genetic regulation, cellular signaling, membrane biology, and drug interactions, culminating in a final-year lab project conducted with research teams in the Biomedical Sciences Research Complex. This integrated five-year MBiochem merges undergraduate and master's level study, awarding a Masters qualification upon completion. The curriculum strengthens research skills, equipping graduates for professional opportunities in scientific fields.
