This program offers an in-depth exploration of Philosophy and Spanish, including an Integrated Year Abroad, delivered at an advanced research-focused level. Students will develop insights into how knowledge is generated, expanded, and revitalized. The curriculum fosters independent learning, nurturing curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous thinking. Spanning 60 months, it culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (potentially including interdisciplinary Faculty offerings). Subsequent years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program's advanced curriculum. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse elective choices (sometimes incorporating cross-Faculty modules), while later years emphasize advanced research-oriented study through program-specific courses.
