This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (German and Italian) and Ancient History through research-focused studies, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves and progresses. Spanning 60 months, this course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years focus on core program modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary courses). Subsequent years emphasize advanced, research-driven coursework tailored to the program's specialized curriculum.
