This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (French and Spanish) and Greek at an advanced, research-focused level, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and is revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and intellectual discipline. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits over the duration—typically 120 credits per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific core modules with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The subsequent years focus on specialized, research-driven coursework tailored to the program's objectives. The first two years integrate essential program-specific core modules alongside diverse electives (potentially spanning multiple Faculties), while the later years emphasize advanced, discipline-centered research learning.
