This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (French and German) and Greek at an advanced, research-focused level, where students will learn how knowledge is developed, expanded, and refreshed. It aims to foster independent learning in all participants, promoting curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and intellectual discipline. Spanning 48 months, this course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules. Students are required to complete 480 credits throughout the program, typically earning 120 credits per academic year. The initial two years usually involve core program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary choices). The final years emphasize advanced, research-driven study through specialized curriculum modules.
