This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (French and German) alongside Ancient History, delivered at an advanced, research-focused level. Students will develop insights into how knowledge is generated, expanded, and revitalized. The curriculum fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, this course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules. Participants must complete 480 credits throughout the program, typically earning 120 credits per academic year. The initial two years generally feature core program modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty offerings). The final years provide specialized, research-driven instruction through program-specific advanced modules.
