This program offers advanced study in Modern Languages (Arabic and Russian) alongside Latin, focusing on research-driven learning where students explore how knowledge evolves and advances. Participants will develop skills in independent study, fostering curiosity, precision, and academic excellence. Spanning 60 months, it leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring 540 credits total—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty choices). Later years emphasize specialized, research-oriented coursework tailored to the program. The first two years blend core subjects with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while subsequent years focus on advanced, program-specific research modules.
