This program offers an in-depth exploration of Middle East Studies and Russian through research-focused coursework, enabling students to grasp how knowledge evolves and progresses. Participants will develop a commitment to self-directed learning characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic excellence. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, potentially including interdisciplinary selections. The final years focus on specialized, research-driven modules tailored to the program's academic objectives. The first two years blend core subjects with diverse electives (sometimes from other faculties), while the latter years emphasize advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
