This program offers advanced, research-focused study in Latin and Social Anthropology, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent learning among all participants, promoting curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous scholarship. Spanning 48 months, the course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature core program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years provide specialized, research-driven education through tailored program modules. The first two years combine mandatory courses with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while later years focus on advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
