The Master of Arts (Honours) in Latin is a four-year program offered by the School of Classics. First-year students with no prior Latin experience will begin with introductory language and literature courses. Those with advanced Latin background will enroll in higher-level modules combining literary analysis with language exercises. Second-year students advance their study of Latin literature across historical periods while strengthening language skills for Honors-level work. This research-intensive program combines Latin and Modern History studies, fostering independent learning with academic rigor. The 48-month curriculum leads to an MA (Hons) degree, requiring completion of 480 credits (typically 120 credits annually). Initial years feature core program modules alongside elective options, while later years focus on specialized, research-driven coursework.
