This program offers advanced, research-focused study of Italian and Russian, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and refreshed. Participants will cultivate a passion for independent learning characterized by curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits (typically 120 per academic year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific modules with elective options (potentially including interdisciplinary Faculty choices). The final years focus on specialized, research-driven coursework tailored to the program. The first two years blend core program modules with selected electives (sometimes from other Faculties), while subsequent years emphasize advanced, program-specific research learning.
