This program offers advanced study of French, Italian, and Persian through research-focused coursework, enabling students to explore how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills in independent learning characterized by curiosity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules requiring 480 credits total, typically 120 credits per year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (sometimes including cross-faculty modules). The final years focus on specialized, research-driven modules that deepen subject expertise. The first two years blend core program requirements with selected electives (potentially from other faculties), while subsequent years concentrate on advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
