This program offers an in-depth exploration of Film Studies and Social Anthropology through research-focused learning, where students will discover how knowledge is developed, expanded, and revitalized. It fosters independent study among all participants, promoting curiosity, precision, ethical scholarship, and academic excellence. Spanning 48 months, the course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature compulsory program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The final years emphasize advanced, research-driven education through specialized coursework. The first two years combine core program modules with optional choices (potentially from other Faculties), while subsequent years focus on tailored, research-oriented studies.
