The MA (Hons) in Film Studies is a four-year program offered by the Department of Film Studies. During the initial two years, students explore fundamental concepts, theories, and methodologies in Film Studies, along with various approaches to cinema's historical analysis and visual media. This prepares them for more advanced, specialized Honors-level courses. The program combines Film Studies and Geography at a research-intensive level, teaching students how knowledge evolves and expands. It fosters independent learning with qualities like curiosity, precision, and academic discipline. Spanning 48 months, this Master of Arts (Honours) degree requires completing 480 credits (typically 120 per year). The first two years feature core program modules alongside elective options (sometimes including cross-faculty courses), while later years focus on advanced, research-oriented curriculum tailored to the program.
