This program offers an in-depth exploration of Comparative Literature alongside Italian and Russian studies, delivered through research-focused teaching that shows students how knowledge evolves and expands. Participants will develop skills in independent study, cultivating qualities of curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous thinking. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules requiring 480 credits total, typically 120 credits per year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (potentially including cross-faculty modules). The final years focus on specialized, research-driven study through tailored advanced modules. The first two years blend core program requirements with various elective choices (sometimes incorporating modules from other faculties), while subsequent years provide concentrated, program-specific research training.
