This program offers an in-depth exploration of Comparative Literature and Russian through research-focused study, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and transforms. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, precision, academic integrity, and rigorous scholarship. Spanning 48 months, the course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific modules with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The final years focus on specialized, research-driven coursework tailored to the program. The first two years blend core disciplinary modules with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while subsequent years deliver advanced, program-centric research instruction.
