This program offers advanced, research-focused study of Arabic and French, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and refreshed. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature core program-specific modules alongside optional selections (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty options). Subsequent years provide specialized, research-driven coursework tailored to the program. The first two years combine mandatory program modules with elective choices (potentially from other Faculties), while later years focus on advanced, program-specific research-oriented learning.
