This program offers an in-depth exploration of Ancient History and Persian through research-focused study, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and transforms. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years feature compulsory program-specific modules alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years focus on advanced, research-driven education through specialized curriculum modules. The first two years combine mandatory program courses with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while later years concentrate on tailored, research-oriented learning.
