This program offers an in-depth exploration of Ancient History and Art History through research-focused studies, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves, progresses, and transforms. It fosters independent learning among all participants, emphasizing curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 48 months, the curriculum culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options, sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections. The final years focus on advanced, research-driven education through specialized modules. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse electives, potentially incorporating courses from other Faculties, while the latter years concentrate on tailored, research-oriented studies.
