This program offers advanced Spanish language studies with a research-focused approach, enabling students to explore how knowledge is developed, expanded, and refreshed. It fosters independent learning among students, promoting qualities like curiosity, integrity, precision, and academic rigor. Spanning 60 months, the course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules. Participants must complete 540 credits throughout the program, typically earning 120 credits per academic year. The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific modules with elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). Subsequent years deliver specialized, research-driven instruction through tailored modules. The first two years blend core program requirements with diverse electives (potentially from other Faculties), while later years focus on advanced, discipline-specific research learning.
