This program equips you with cutting-edge digital expertise and hands-on industry knowledge to safeguard organizations against the escalating threat of cyber attacks. Upon graduation, your specialized skills will be highly sought-after due to the worldwide scarcity of trained cyber security experts. You'll learn from leading researchers actively shaping advancements in fields such as blockchain technology and IoT. The UK's National Cyber Security Center has certified Southampton as a premier institution for cyber security research. During your master's studies, you will: develop skills to create, implement, and maintain software systems, train in government-approved computer science facilities designated as an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research, master techniques to detect and mitigate security vulnerabilities across software, IoT devices, and networked platforms, learn from faculty conducting pioneering research, complete an independent research project in your third year, participate in a collaborative design initiative during your fourth year, partnering with either academic or industry clients.
