Explore the materials utilized in aircraft and spacecraft, including selection criteria, performance characteristics, and failure mechanisms. This program focuses on designing and producing high-speed aerospace vehicles, with specialized studies in materials science, structural analysis, and engineering. The MEng in Aeronautics and Astronautics with a focus on Materials and Structures equips students for careers in engineering design or advanced research. The curriculum examines the scientific principles, engineering processes, and manufacturing techniques behind aircraft and spacecraft. Our aeronautical engineering programs teach operational dynamics within Earth's atmosphere and outer space. Students master aerospace engineering fundamentals before progressing to specialized modules covering materials science, construction methods, and testing procedures for aeronautical and manufacturing engineering.
The third year features an independent research project, while the fourth year involves collaborative design work.
Gain practical experience through our comprehensive facilities, which include:
specialized design studios and workshops for students
