This Master's program in Clinical Psychology provides thorough training in understanding mental health conditions. Alongside courses that deepen your expertise in the causes and management of various psychological disorders and behavioral issues, the curriculum includes significant research components. You'll gain in-depth research methodology training through advanced statistics coursework and will undertake a thesis project on a relevant subject. Our partnerships with regional NHS services enable qualified students to access thesis supervision and optional placement opportunities when available. USW operates a Behavior Analysis clinic where students can gain supervised hands-on experience through volunteer work.
This is an academic Clinical Psychology Master's program that does not confer UK clinical practice qualifications or ensure admission to DClinPsy programs. However, the competencies you acquire will strengthen applications for professional training schemes, Assistant Psychologist roles, and clinical Research Assistant positions, giving you an advantage over candidates with only undergraduate Psychology qualifications. Graduates may also pursue advanced research degrees. We encourage applications from self-funded students interested in postgraduate research (including Research Master's and PhD programs) in clinical and health psychology.
