The Sports Coaching and Development program equips you for diverse roles in coaching, education, and sports development. You'll acquire hands-on experience in the sports sector, collaborating with development organizations, social enterprises, community clubs, or primary/secondary schools while earning professional coaching certifications. Through practical placements, you'll explore the evolving landscape of sports development—from grassroots initiatives that encourage participation to working with high-performance athletes. Choose between on-campus studies at our USW Sport Park or a blended learning approach for professionals already employed in sports.
Graduates with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching and Development pursue careers as sports coaches, education coordinators, school sports officers, 5x60 program leaders, NGB community officers, leisure center development specialists, community coaches, or entrepreneurial managers. This program also provides excellent preparation for those aiming to pursue a PGCE and transition into physical education teaching.
