Expanding upon our acclaimed Police Science program, the innovative Professional Policing degree equips students for contemporary law enforcement challenges and allied careers. This policing program fulfills all essential criteria outlined in the College of Policing's pre-join degree curriculum. Coursework encompasses vital policing domains including counterterrorism operations, undercover tactics, legal frameworks, forensic investigation techniques, digital law enforcement, cybercrime, safeguarding vulnerable populations, and neighborhood policing strategies. Instruction is provided by experienced former law enforcement professionals and distinguished scholars, with access to exceptional campus resources. Our institution boasts one of the few Hydra Simulation Centers globally, utilized for training police personnel across all ranks.

The BSc (Hons) Professional Policing program readies graduates for police officer positions and related law enforcement roles including community support officers, dispatch operators, and criminal intelligence analysts. This qualification represents one of three approved pathways to police constable certification. While graduation doesn't ensure police recruitment, degree holders accepted into service within five years qualify for abbreviated initial training. Applicants must still meet individual force standards regarding physical fitness, medical clearance, and security vetting. Our curriculum specifically prepares students for police recruitment procedures through simulated fitness evaluations, interview practice, interactive testing scenarios, and application workshops. Comprehensive career guidance is available, with numerous retired officers providing invaluable insights into the application process for law enforcement careers.
