Aeronautical engineers utilize their expertise across all phases of air vehicle development, encompassing design, production, testing, certification, and maintaining operational safety and sustainability. This BEng (Hons) Aeronautical Engineering program was crafted in collaboration with industry leaders like the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) to enhance career prospects. Students explore fundamental aerospace engineering concepts while gaining hands-on training in our advanced campus facilities. When conditions allow and visa regulations permit, final-year participants may experience flight test lessons. The program strongly recommends industry placements, with past UK students gaining experience at organizations like GE Aviation Wales, Airbus Filton, and British Airways Maintenance Cardi (BAMC).

Our connections with regional aviation leaders - including GE Aviation, BAMC, Nordam Europe, and TES Aviation Group through the Aerospace Wales Forum - create valuable opportunities. Graduates find employment across global civil and defense sectors, with UK alumni securing positions at prominent firms such as Rolls Royce, Airbus, MBDA, and government agencies like Dstl. Career paths include design engineering, airworthiness certification, project management, and research roles.
