For those pursuing a career in media, this practical Media Production degree equips you with essential skills and real-world opportunities. The program focuses on three key media sectors: television, radio, and digital media. Initially, you'll explore all production areas, developing hands-on abilities to create content for various platforms. Later, you can specialize in TV, radio, or digital media while understanding their interconnected nature in today's landscape. At our Cardiff campus, Media Production students learn from experienced instructors with professional backgrounds and valuable industry connections. Our alumni have secured roles at major organizations including BBC, ITV, S4C, Made in Wales TV, Boomerang, Indus, Media Wales, Sky Sports, and Sky News, among other media and PR firms. As part of Film & TV School Wales, USW's Media Production program prepares students for careers in the vibrant television and film industry.

Media Production graduates have established careers in various fields such as film/TV production, radio broadcasting, public relations, digital design, and journalism. Depending on their specialization, students develop professional competencies in at least one of these areas: Sound Recording (operating solo or in teams across different environments and formats), Camera and Lighting Operation (working independently or collaboratively in various settings), Interactive Design (creating digital experiences across platforms), Editing (shaping content for different media), Sound Design (crafting audio elements for diverse projects), Scriptwriting (developing narratives for multiple formats), Directing (leading creative teams), or Production Management (overseeing projects from concept to completion).
